Welcome! And congratulations on taking this often daunting step. Trying something new can be scary – especially when that involves placing yourself in a room full of lycra and flexibility. It can feel uncomfortable, intimidating and sometimes downright terrifying. We get it.
But Kozen isn´t like that. We promise. Whilst inevitably you might feel the familiar discomfort that comes with trying anything new, this yoga adventure will be so worth it and so wonderful. The yoga path can be all things: uplifting, energising, fulfilling, freeing, and amazing. Probably also a bit challenging and wobbly some days! But mainly just amazing and often life changing. After all, there is a reason yoga has endured for over 5000 years!
As with anything new, please remember to be kind to yourself and to take it as slow as you need. We want you practicing yoga for a lifetime! There will be days that you have bundles of energy. On those days, go for it and challenge yourself. On other days you may feel quite exhausted, so rest. Yoga is not a race nor a competition. It meets you wherever you are, each day.
In your first Flow class you’ll probably feel a bit lost. Don´t let that daunt you. It’s not often we find ourselves challenged and get to be beginners. You’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll pick up on the poses. We have the friendliest and kindest teachers who are here to keep you safe, inspired, challenged and happy. Never ever feel as if you have to keep up, this is always your personal practice.
At Kozen our energy is all centred on supporting you on whatever journey you’re on. It’s our hope that you’ll fall in love with yoga at the very first stretch. If not, give your body and mind some time to feel into it, it´ll draw you in sooner or later!
